Step-by-step instructions

  1. 1Visit the official DOTM website (https://applydlnew.dotm.gov.np/) and click Register if you are a new user.
  2. 2Create an account by entering your full name, mobile number, email address, citizenship number, and date of birth. Verify your mobile number using the OTP sent to your phone and create a password.
  3. 3Log in to your account using your registered mobile number/email and password.
  4. 4Complete your profile by filling in all required personal details: full name (as per citizenship), father's name, grandfather's name, date of birth, citizenship details, permanent address, temporary address, and contact information. Make sure all information matches your official documents.
  5. 5Select the required service: New Driving License Application, Driving License Renewal, Category Addition, or Duplicate License. For license renewal, select Driving License Renewal.
  6. 6Upload required documents: citizenship certificate, existing driving license (for renewal), and passport-sized photo (if required). Ensure the files meet the portal's size and format requirements.
  7. 7Choose your preferred Transport Management Office where you will complete the verification and biometric process.
  8. 8Select an available date and time slot from the appointment calendar.
  9. 9Review your application carefully before submission. Check personal details, license category, contact information, and uploaded documents. Correct any mistakes before proceeding.
  10. 10Click Submit to complete the online application process.
  11. 11Download and print the application receipt/form after successful submission. Save a copy on your mobile device as well.
  12. 12Visit the selected transport office on the appointment date with printed application form, original citizenship certificate, original driving license (for renewal), and required fees. The office will verify your documents and complete biometric registration including photograph, fingerprints, and digital signature.
